Written by Timothy Firich

The Beaver County Technical Rescue Team has already had a busy year.  Recently, our team has been called out for a variety of incidents.  Last week, the TRT was requested to assist Beaver Falls VFD for a possible high angle rope rescue, and was also dispatched to assist with a mine collapse in Springfield Twp, Ohio.

Previously mentioned, the TRT also responded to an industrial incident in which a workers arm was caught in a conveyor belt system.  The team was able to free the man without loss of limb or further injury.

If at any time you may require a higher level of expertise in extricating a victim from a dangerous situation, request the Technical Response Team when calling 911.  This will allow for us, or any other Technical Response units to assemble and prepare for your emergency.  Our goal is to be able to have a unit on scene within a half hour from the time of dispatch.

Our Technical Rescue Team specializes in structure collapse, trench collapse, confined space rescue, and rope rescue (high/low angle).  Other members of the Region 13 Task Force can also provide swift water rescue.
