At 9:30 am, a stream of children flooded out of Conway Elementary School for 'Safety Day', a day when local emergency responders donated their time to help educate community children about various aspects of the emergency response system. Amongst all of the excitement, was the Baden Volunteer Fire Department, which had presented their Ladder and Rescue trucks for the morning.
Several stations were set up for the children, consisting of the Conway Police Department, Beaver County Sheriff's Department, Conway Volunteer Fire Department, Economy Ambulance, and Baden Volunteer Fire Department.
For about an hour and a half, the children learned about the different roles that each of the departments played in keeping them safe.
As a special treat, children were given a tour of Rescue 47, and applauded our very own Firefighter Josh as he put on his gear and climbed tirelessly up and down Tower 47.
